Something about the ‘Bruegelesque’ workbench and those great solid, workmanlike tool cupboards. No nonsense elegance in the finest northern European tradition… I’ve been enchanted by the Bulthaup b2 Kitchen Workshop idea since viewing it first-hand in Milan in April, so seeing it make the leap from design week showroom concept to viable product, destined for real life homes, is very exciting indeed. The Bulthaup website now features the elemental, ‘kitchen-in-three-movements’ system in a range of moods and finishes (I’m especially fond of the yellow room), along with a nice, snappy picture-book version of the story so far. Essential reading for kitchen design geeks (and we are many) everywhere.
