pouff

Check out this slick stool (I love the clean color palatte) designed by Jaime Hayón for Bosa Ceramiche. The Pouff, constructed of ceramic and leather, made its debut at Salone d’il Mobile 2007 and is now available for purchase at Wannekes. It’s also aptly named — as soon as you buy it, poof! there goes your rent money (apologies, I couldn’t resist).

Loving milk paint!

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

This chair is an example of colonial style milk painted furniture which had a bit of a style comeback in the 1980’s. Although this style of furniture has been a stylistic trend off and on, It is actually classic country americana and can be mixed with almost any other interior style as it has long been considered a kind of folk art.img_2230

A Fireplace on-the-go?

Have you ever wanted a fire place, but don’t have a chimney or anything like that? Well with Schulte Design you can have a fireplace without all the hassle of building a real one, or putting in one of those gas-fueled ones.

When not being used, it looks like a simple box, at around 2ft in length, it is unassuming.

I honestly couldn’t tell you a price, I tried to find one, and it really is perfect for those living in small apartments and the like, and honestly the images from Schulte look amazing.

Check it out here.

Retro Reading

I’m always keeping an eye out for the perfect reading chair so when I saw this “Vintage Martian Chair” on Etsy, I added it to a short list that might fit the bill. The chair is created by Spruce Home who carries fabulously retro furnishings. Now I’ll admit, this chair might be a bit too stylized for most rooms, but I love the lines and I think the fabric print is so fun (it’s an organic fabric created by Mod Green Pod) plus it looks super plush and comfy. Definitely a piece to keep in mind for future rooms!

An artist who sees her design process as “sophisticated daydreaming,” Vivian Beer creates functional objects that blur the line between contemporary design, craft, and sculpture.  Working primarily with steel, automotive paint, and occasionally wood, Beer is influenced by objects, images, and ideas that celebrate beauty and power.
