Another Chance to live La Belle Vie

La Belle Vie - the new store

La Belle Vie - the new store

Once upon a time there was a beautiful furniture store, much admired by Those In The Know.  It was called La Belle Vie, and it was run by Zasa Rossini, who made lovely and original furniture.

And then, last year, she stopped.  The store was closed as Zasa took a break - and many lovers of fine furniture experienced withdrawal symptoms.  Although, of course, of still sees her pieces - most recently I came across one of her pretty parlour lamps in Summer Gildea’s home as we were filming the Christmas edition of Meta Makeover.

Recently, Zasa opened ~Ztique~, a store which sells more gorgeous things - this time shoes, hats and jewellery - and all really outside the province of Prim Perfect.

But now she has announced plans to re-launch the La Belle Vie line with a new store and it’s opening in Dollz Town for an introductory one-day sale.

And that means … TODAY!

Zasa is showing a small preview of what is to come when she opens La Belle Vie again in January 2009, and everything set out to display is on sale at 50% off what it will be when the shop is offically opened, but only for today, December 26th, until midnight SLT.

Zasa says, “There are things here .. beautiful and strange … practical and perhaps a bit over the top, but all made with attention to detail and much loving care.  There are never pose balls.  Poses are hidden in the cushion prims.  Can you find them all?  Many items have colour or upholstery change menus.  Lamps, chandileres and fireplaces really work.  Drawers and doors open.. water actually runs with a touch of the faucet tip.”

So come and explore La Belle Vie - and who knows? You could pick up a bargain!

How to Make a Wind Turbine on a Budget

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

Today, more than ever, people are now looking at ways on being able to cut back on their expenses in order to stretch their budget.  One of which is their monthly electric bills.  With the level of fuel used to provide electricity in homes and current financial crisis, electric bill charges have been skyrocketing.  It is for this reason that many people are now looking for alternative sources of electricity to power up their homes.  While there are many options to choose from, many of these alternative sources of electricity do tend to cost quite a lot of money.  And for a family who is already struggling on a tight budget, this is a big no-no.

That is why wind turbines have become increasingly popular as an alternative source of energy.  Apart from being able to provide you with a means to cut back on your monthly electrical bills, building a wind turbine is cheaper as compared to other methods used for obtaining the benefits of using alternative sources of energy.  Here are some of the ways on how to make a wind turbine on a budget.

Do Your Research

One way on how to make a wind turbine on a budget is to do some research.  If you have neighbors or friends who have already built their own wind turbines, you can ask them on where are the best places to get great deals for the materials that you would need to get you started.  Since most of the people who are looking into building their own wind turbines are those who are also on a budget, they would be the best person to ask.  Another great place to look is over the Internet.  Apart from being able to get the construction plans on how to make a wind turbine, some websites would also provide you information where you can actually get the materials that you would need free of charge!

Check Second Hand Electrical Shops

Another way on how to make a wind turbine without blowing out your budget is by checking your local second hand electrical shops.  When building a wind turbine, the most expensive is the DC motor.  Many second hand electrical shops would be able to sell you a reliable and working DC motor for just a fraction of the price as compared to getting it brand new.  Just make sure that you are allowed to test the motor first before finalizing your purchase.

Visit Recycling Companies and Junk Shops

The metal frame that you would need to build your wind turbine can easily be found in junk shops and recycling companies.  Many construction sites tend to send scrap and excess materials into these facilities.  As with the DC motor, it is also important to first inspect on the materials that you would be getting prior to purchasing them to make sure that they are durable.
