As the title suggests, this is a simple, elegant box table that opens up from one piece into three pieces in not more than five seconds! Designed by John Nouanesing, who also calls it ‘not another cube’. Neat!
Hans J Wegner’s Classic “Papa Bear” Lounge Chair
Posted By: Furniture Reporter // Category: News
Hans J Wegner’s Papa Bear Chair (1951) formerly known as the Teddy Bear is my idea of classical mid-century modern furniture that will never face the calendar in a stand off with “out of date”. The pseudo wing back design and tufts offer a timeless appeal that Wegner’s famous Scandinavian chairs have become well known for.
So far, we have bought our air-conditioner, we’ve bought our lightings, and now we’ve bought some of our sanitary items.
We eventually bought it at Hoe Kee, though at quite a bit of an expensive price, but the uncle Johnny was too nice to reject.
Very chatty, even with SH, and Tom.
Now, am sitting in the comforts of the office, and noting down all the steps and stuffs that should be noted for the next round of house deco.
Which would only be in another 5-10 years.
Wow, I’ll be !! 30 - 35 years old~! so old!!
Anyway, Uncle Johnny was very nice, and since he was like the spokesperson for Fujioh, so he kept recommending us to buy Fujioh hood and hob, and since got discount of 10%, so we bought at a discounted rate of $736. Yep, that’s also the price I saw online.
Next, as the Blanco kitchen sink was still on discount, we got that too..
Hopefully it won’t chip easily, like what Doink was worried about…
Then we took quite a long while to choose our taps. Main reason being most of the taps were MADE IN CHINA…
Doink and Boink, and quite a few others are scared of products that are made in China
So uncle Johnny (hereby J) recommended this stainless steel one from China, which we were thinking…
Then as if he suddenly remembered, he recommended us this tap from Blanco as well, made in Germany. The price was $249… -.-”
But Uncle J said, he’ll charge us at $149 since we’re getting the sink from Blanco as well, wow…. I think taps are originally that cheap man. hehe, so we got that, and we got quite a bit of freebies that comes along with the taps and sink and hood and hob, like the condiment jar or sth, and some eh… can’t remember.
Well, so long it’s written in the receipt, I dun care.
We also bought our heater from the uncle J too, but it’s still ugly.. I think our ID will scorn cuz in the end, we still bought an ugly big heater, despite us saying we dun wan an ugly one. haha.
All in all, we spent $1,564 on the sanitary items, and we haven’t bought the mirror, and trays and racks yet..
Hmmm…. budget budget…. ><
We’ve also already spent a $2,000 on lightings, and a $3,900 on the air-conditioning. Not forgetting another $3,200 on the bed itself…
Soon it’ll be the electronics and the sofa turn…So much in one shot…
Anyway, coming Saturday, we’ll start the trunking of our air-conditioner first.
So 1st step to a house, lay the trunking wires of the aircon!! and I think supposedly followed by the electrical wiring.
Will update the steps again soon!
Hello and Welcome.
Let there be light: and there was light.
This Time Now is brought to you by a desire to delve deeper into design, form, texture, color…
What does it all mean?. Surely it is more than just looking at an object and declaring it beautiful or pretty. Why are we drawn to some things, people, places and shun others. This Time Now, authored by yours truly is my attempt to showcase des objets, des gens that attract me and that I attract. All photos are mine and of course are protected under copyright laws. Please ask permission to use any of the photos seen here or better yet, license them from me.
I am a professional photographer, thanks in large part to Tom Dixon (thank you for believing in me) and a world traveler thanks to my undying fascination with the world around me.
This Time Now is my way of relating and connecting with design in my life in all of the forms that I currently know it.
Life changes constantly but what happened today cannot happen tomorrow so make the most of this time now. All anyone has is this time now.
THIS. TIME. NOW. in everything that I do.
Enjoy.
I finally got everything situated in my craft room/Kyle’s computer room. It’s a little squished but I’ll fix that (in time.) Sorry for the crappy picture, Alaska sucks for taking indoor photos!
There’s my cutting table, I was up until 1AM working on envelopes for new cards. I’ve been making my envelopes lately since I can’t find envelopes to fit my new 4 1/2 X 3 1/4 in. cards.
I unpacked my sewing machine last night and was going to do a bit of sewing today but I remembered that my labels got scattered all over the UHaul trailer. I left them there because they were ruined. I ordered new ones but they’re not here yet. As soon as they get here, I’m gonna start on some passport cases and cut into some fabric I bought at home but haven’t used yet.
Also, I’m thinking of starting a line of things for guys since there are so few men’s items in the handmade world. I’m going to do passport cases for the menfolk and there’s a possibility I’ll do wallets. Any other suggestions?
