With Halloween approaching, we’re certain to see lots of Halloween themed decorations, parties and treasure hunts popping up across the grid. Goldie2u Vanvleck is one of the first to host a treasure hunt at her Island Depot sim store.
A group notice was sent out this evening to announce the Lost Pumpkin Treasure Hunt. Goldie has hidden 50 pumpkins around the island. Each pumpkin contains a brand new item created just for this hunt. Inside each pumpkin you will find items from a complete bathroom set, Halloween decorations, and more. The first 25 pumpkins are for anyone to find. Pumpkins numbered 26 through 50 are for group members only, and you must be wearing your group tag to receive the prizes. If you are not already a member of Island Depot, there is a sign near the landing point you can click on to receive a group invitation. Its worth it to be a member of the group anyway, so you can keep up with other announcements, freebies and hunts in the future.
As soon as I went inside the store, I immediately spotted one of the pumpkins. They are fairly easy to notice if you take the time to look around. Also, Goldie was kind enough to number them, so you can keep track of which ones you’ve found. This is what you are looking for.

This first pumpkin contained a resizeable fall bench planter. I rezzed it at home and its really pretty! Only one prim in beautiful fall colors, and you can adjust the size to meet your needs.
As I’ve been walking around the store, I’m seeing some really great furniture here. I just love this Chocolate Flow Lounge sofa. I’m very partial to earth tones, so I really liked the colors of the couch and cushions. Plus, I love the curved shape to it, very modern looking. It has several single and cuddle poses, and other accessories like the coffee table, cushions, and pillar candles sold seperately. (And yes, thats another pumpkin peeking out from behind the sofa.)

Island Depot has a large outdoor section, that includes outdoor furniture and an extensive garden center. Goldie’s plants are very pretty! And although they may seem a little bit expensive at first glance ($129L each for most of the plants), they are copy/mod. So its well worth the cost, since you can make a garden from just a few purchases.

In the spirit of Halloween, there is a large holiday section set up near the middle of the sim, with some great Halloween displays and decorations. You can find a lot of the treasure hunt pumpkins hidden around this area. (But be extra careful when clicking the pumpkins hidden in the displays. Some of the textures overlap and you may be clicking on some of the sale items by mistake.)

I was so excited to see the Tuscany Courtyard here! I originally saw this beautiful prefab courtyard at a Phil Rossi concert. I wish I could remember what venue it was at, but I was fascinated by the amazing detail of the handpainted planters, ivy and flowers. I couldn’t believe that they were only prim textures that were part of the walls themselves. They looked so realistic, I thought they were seperate plants and vases that had been placed there. Outstanding work! This courtyard prefab is only $899L and is copy/mod. It comes with 6 benches with 3 different poses, and a potted Wysteria tree in the center.

There are many other nice prefabs there also. I spent close to two hours there looking around as I wrote this post, and didn’t quite see everything. The pumpkins were all very easy to find, I’ve found 18 of them so far with little to no effort, and like I said- I haven’t even made it all the way through the island. I plan to go back over the weekend and find the rest. It looks like there are a lot of great Halloween decorations hidden inside the pumpkins, so this is the perfect hunt if you are wanting to decorate your home for Halloween.
Also- I noticed a lot of little toy sailboats hidden around, as well. I clicked on one of them and it seems they are left over from an earlier hunt- so there are actually two hunts going on, right now! I don’t know how long the sailboats will be here, so hurry and come explore Island Depot.
