I had some requests to do a post on outdoor furniture and decor today. Specifically, with a Moroccan theme. As it turns out, I just found a great store yesterday. Thanks to my friend and neighbor, Hope Clary of the Beat Chicks podcast. She was looking for a certain style of furniture to use on the back patio of her new home, and showed me this great outdoor market. A lot of the styles here would look nice either indoors or out. But as I browse my way through the rows of sofas and scattered pillows or cushions, it brings to my minds eye an open air sitting area.

Tara Tagore is the designer behind Melino Style Moroccan, and its immediately clear that she has a fine eye for detail. The colors used throughout her market are rich and intricate. Not only in her designs and creations, but in the overall ambiance as well. Walking through the market, you can faintly hear Moroccan music. The breeze causes the light fabric of the tent curtains to flutter, while the occasional cat can be found curled up on the edge a sofa chair or in a pile of cushions.

(Note- the Zooby’s pets are not for sale, here. They are meant for decoration only, and compliment the displays nicely.)
I am impressed at the tremendous amount of detail that went into a lot of Tara’s work. I will warn the readers up front- a lot of the designs here do have very high prim counts. But the prices of many of the items here are surprisingly affordable, when you consider how much time and work went into the creation of them. Among my favorites are the hanging lanterns and decorative hookahs.

The hookahs are not functional and are for decoration only, but they make a very nice centerpiece to go along with the rugs and cluster pillows that you can find here. With so many different options to work with, you could make some terrific lounge or chill out areas to relax with a group of friends.

If you want to go all out on the Moroccan theme, they have a few different tents and prefab homes available. Including this Moorish House, which features an open air sitting area at the front.

But it doesn’t take much to give your home a Moroccan feel. Hope Clary finally settled on the Scheherazade sofa for her back patio, and it looks just pefect. This is a great example of how just the right furnishings can transform your home, in so many ways.
