I really don’t like the Togo sofas.

I know that everyone seems to be in love with them right now, but they look like some sort of amorphous Alien prop/lifeform to me. Also, they look like the older sibling of this, um, lounger, from PBteen:

Right? I mean, this is something you maybe stick in your partially finished basement so that your kids and their friends can hang out and watch TV on (and smoke pot when you’re not home.) Not something you spend $2000+ on and put in your living room.

Anyone with me? Or am I just missing something?

The home with 100% of harmony (breathing even out of the walls) cannot miss a comfortable Tea Set in one corner. Usually the Chinese Tea Set are located in the living room or in the most quiet corner of the house, where guests are welcomed for a chat or a meditation in all comfort. The real Tea Set corner should find its own place at ground level (not on a standard 4 legs table). However the table should not be tall. Serving the tea while sitting crossed legs on cuscions is really perfect and cozy. 

What you need once the space has been eventually retailed out in your home:

• A table set with below-receptacle: they are made of stronf wood, bamboo or other types, usually brown/red/green color depending on the wood. They are sold completed with an insertable plastic tray which is used to collect the spilled water and old tea leaves. Some table set come with a small tab and they have to be connected thru a tube for the water system. These are generally made of stone, even of pure jade and are extremely heavy and carved with lotus flowers and wonderful decorations. They are the most expensive ones.
• 
• teapot: glassmade for the green tea, terracottamade for the red tea. Different sizes available.
• cups and glasses: always have a glass for the green tea; ceramic and terracotta ones are fine for red leaves tea.
• filters: they are necessay while pouring tea into the cups also when the teapot has a build-in filter. External filters are made of iron, metals, or even a half dried pumpkin like the one in the picture above.
• water boiler: aluminium or plastic made, it should be placed very closed to you in order to have boiled water any moment.
• tea pets: the last trend! terracotta made small figures of animals and children…. they are just to decorate your tea table but usually with a characteristic: when you pour hot water on top of them bubbles will come out of their mouth, ears and noses after a while for fun.

cleansing cloth: fully absorbing and always handy, is folded in a corner of the tea table ready to wipe.

How to make and serve the tea:

The most simple and meditative part is coming now, silence and comfort are all pervading, the guests are enjoying and you can get this beautiful feeling too while making tea for them:

Have a good quality of green leaves ready in a box. Open the box and pour a couple of spoons (there are also bamboo spoons available for the purpose) into the tea pot or the big glass. Pour boiled water on top. Start to serve it into the guests cups with the help of the filter. The tea should be smelled first and then tasted hot and smelled at the same time. Seve the tea with this procedure in more rounds into the same cups when the guest are done. Tea will taste with different flavour-degree all the time. Enjoy it!

Marketing slogans and mottoes always amuse me.  I was browsing through a furniture store the other day and I noticed they advertised “fine furniture.”   I enjoy the way we use our language.  I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found a furniture store yet that advertises “crappy furniture.”
