Exploring the grid tonight, I found myself on the Bora Bora sim. I was searching for seashell textures, and a friend of mine tipped me off that I might find some things, here. I didn’t find any textures, but I did recognize the stretch of beach from my earlier days of Second Life, back when I first joined and was doing a lot of exploring. I also remembered there being a very nice outdoor furniture market, not far from there. I took to the sky and flew over to see if it was still around. To my pleasant surprise, it was. Its also a lot larger than I remembered, or possibly its expanded. The sim is beautiful. A tropical island with lots of palm trees and stone walkways that twist and turn their way through the market displays, all framed by the ocean. Aral Levitt did a wonderful job at making her outdoor market style store a beautiful place to spend time in.

I ended up landing near a display of pottery in the Asian and Zen section, and was immediately drawn that way. I’ve mentioned in earlier posts that I love pottery and vases, and that I’m always looking for really pretty or interesting ones. Aral really wow’d me with hers.. the textures and detail on these are incredible.

Most of them are sold together in sets of two or three, depending on how they are grouped together. But a couple of the larger vases with the Asian symbols are sold individually.. and are only one prim!
Over in the Tiki section, I found another of my weaknesses- pre-fabs! They had several, but I will only show one of them here. It was a tough choice, because a few of them were really nice looking. But I settled on the Casablanca. All the prefabs are sold unfurnished, but the furniture is available for purchase seperately. The furniture box is displayed alongside the purchase panel for the prefab. I think thats a great idea, because some people might want to have the option to buy their home ‘furnished’, while others may want to decorate it themselves. I love the open interior, quite unlike other traditional homes. The seperate living spaces are very nice looking, and there is also an outdoor spa/bathing area and other details that I did not get pictures of. But here are a couple of snapshots to give you the idea.

The Casablanca is 172 prims, and fits 30×230. Cost unfurnished is $2400L. The furniture set is also $2400L. But the pieces are available to buy individually inside the prefab, if you only want certain things.
Most of the furniture here looks like it could either be used indoors or out. I love this Fidji Chill Out lounge set. I could picture this working very well on a large deck or patio, as well as being used as an indoor living room set. I tested it out, and as far as I can tell, it seats at least 7.

There is also another item here that I’ve had my eye on for awhile now, and plan on adding to the beach and shoreline at my own home. The Amazon River Raft is one of the best looking couples rafts I’ve seen so far. It looks as if it will seat at least two couples, and has a nice canopy and many pillows and candles for ambiance. There is also another version thats a little bit smaller, and has no canopy.

Finally, Bahia Zen Island Store also has a blog to keep you informed of product updates and releases. http://bahiatiki.blogspot.com/
