Lighting brings the life into the interior of a house. Most of the time, lighting has been taken for granted since the common priority for interior design goes to furniture, paint color and alike. I Give Up! I’m Just Going to Have a Mondo Garage Sale

Every time I go into my garage to try and find anything, I feel like sitting down on the floor and crying. My garage has been absolutely stuffed full of stuff since we remodeled the house a few years ago. Not only is it full of remodeling things, it’s full of furniture that I was refurbishing for my craft booth and craft fairs.

Although you can hardly tell, I have two dining room tables, chairs, a desk, 3 sets of end tables plus one single, a vintage bedroom set (double bed, vanity and dresser), a bookcase, a wall cabinet, a garden table, two benches and right at them moment I can’t remember the rest. I actually donated quite a bit when I closed the booth, but the things that I hadn’t finished or hadn’t moved to the booth remain in my garage. I even have boxes of brand new items (including shelves, hooks, coat racks, architectural elements) that I bought for the booth.

I also have lighting parts and lamps tucked in here and there as well as other miscellaneous other crafting and building supplies. You can’t fill a booth with just furniture, so I have a few other vintage and collectibles.

I was going to Craig’s List the big items individually. Everytime I walked into that garage I felt so overwhelmed, I just couldn’t get it together. I had been slowly cleaning up and putting things away. This weekend I finally decided to just have on humongous garage sale and get rid of as much as I possibly can in 2 days, Friday and Saturday. I’m adding some things from inside the house and inside my shop building. It’s probably not a typical garage sale, but I hope it will be an altered artist’s, lighting designer’s, furniture refurbisher’s, recycled artist’s, craft booth owner’s, home decorator’s and garage sale enthusiast’s paradise.

I’ll be listing the sale Thursday on Craig’s List in the Portland Washington County area.  Until then, here’s a pointer to some photos I took of my garage last night, Garage Sale Photos.

Where to buy your bedroom furniture

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

Over the past weekend I’ve been looking for some new bedroom furniture. I checked out the usual suspects, Argos, MFI, B&Q but I had no luck, I prefer more classic, contemporary furniture.

I managed to find a great little website that sold the perfect thing for me, New England Lifestyle, they specialise in white wooden furniture with a classic/contemporary design. After I took a peek around the site to see what they offered, I found some great reasons why I should buy from them:

  • Exclusive furniture designs
  • Handmade furniture
  • Quick delivery
  • 2 hour delivery slots
  • Trained delivery team
  • Furniture packaging removed and then recycled

All of these great reasons made me feel even better about ordering furniture from them, especially the idea that my new furniture has been hand made and for once I know when a company will deliver it.

New England Lifestyle has to be the site for me when it comes to buying my furniture, and I would recommend them, I currently have a New England TV Cabinet on order arriving in just over a week.

Last Updated: 12:31am BST 26/08/2008 — Rule changes for commercial banks are acting as cover for exchange rate intervention, writes Ambrose Evans-Pritchard China has resorted to stealth intervention in the currency markets to amass US dollars, using indirect means to hold down the yuan and ease the pain for its struggling exporters as the global slowdown engulfs the economy.

* — ‘A Bundesbank study found 40 cents of every dollar spent by eurozone countries on oil imports comes back again one way or another. The figure for the US is just 10 cents.’
