Visual softness and surprise are the concepts that best embody the spirit of this new seat, also conceived for outdoor use that, although it is rigid and capable of withstanding the elements, provides comfort and is exciting to the touch. Desalto.

Wednesday Work in Progress (WIP)

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

I posted a list like this before, but now I am trying to post the same things on the same days of the week, plus that must have been a couple of months ago at least. Plus this list helps remind me how many projects I have going on right now and how I should finish these ones before starting a new one. Isn't the fresh start of a new project always the best. Here's to finishing what I started (because it's the right thing to do)

WIP:

replace the other free glider rocker with a still photography area for items in the shop spot to put the TV that has been sitting on our bedroom floor for 8 months / replace our table with a sideboard / organize my craft storage. Yes, these all have been rolled into the same project, which also includes moving the DH's "study area"/place that I never learned to never touch.

Curtains for the Bedroom

Black Curtains for the pantry closet, the bedroom closet and the bedroom entry (our apartment is really lacking in doors)

Blue Shaggy Raggy Rug for his bathroom

Pot Lid Holder made from curtain rod

Blue Crocheted Wool Wrist Warmers I've made one, but not the second.

finish organizing the closet

laundry, bills, dishes, dusting, cleaning and recycling (always a WIP)

replace standard bulbs with cfl’s This is mostly done, I am just waiting for the other bulbs to wear out.

replace disposable batteries with a rechargeable system

find out how to recycle more of the things we throw away

sew or buy cloth bags for shopping/for the shop

lose 10 more lbs.

finish vintage cloth measuring tapes for the shop

finish the wee wonderfuls pointy cat

make a friend 2 lab coats

Hang the thrifted mirror.

Finish a friend's Etsy banner and avatar

Update my portfolio site

New Ideas:

Cabinet Doors made from canvas stretcher bars

Cover half of open kitchen shelving with a curtain

needlebooks for the shop

coasters for the shop

soft vintage baby blocks for the shop

find old architectural letter “L” for the living room

paint the bottom of the kitchen cart black

paint the free/cheap dresser black

replace our free glider rocker with a real chair

create a still photography area for photographing items for the shop.

find a low round white coffee table for the living room

make a black hand quilted duvet (lol, that would be a lot of work)

make or find a white eyelet shower curtain for my bath and a grey one for his bath

make or find a soft white rug for my bathroom

make a red woven rug for the bedroom

clean the sofa / find out why it's sagging in the middle (i.e. broken) and fix it

find under the bed storage for our blankets/sheets (that would help the closet org) We almost thought we found this one day with something we already had at the house, but it ran into the rails. I can't remember what it was now, but it was seriously so close.

make red and black pillowcases for the bedroom

make fused plastic lunch bags for the shop

Blog about/photograph weeknight dinners.

tutorial for no-glue fabric covered button thumbtacks

Figure out how to remove stains from the laundry better

Figure out how to be a better/more thrifty housekeeper

Clean out the magazine stack

Make a monthly cookbook that highlights simple/cheap recipes for food in season

Sew a blazer (That's ambitious!)

Move my blog from a wordpress.com blog to a wordpress.org blog.

Figure out how to hide the refrigerator/microwave cord. (Probably not a problem for most people, but when I take a picture you'll agree, it's a problem)

Make/buy a padded sleeve for my laptop.

Things I've finished! (i.e. things I need to tell you about by writing a new post)

Grey Crochet Cord Cover

find a recycling center (and actually go there)

apron for the sassy apron swap

build or find a shelf that will raise the extra fridge in the pantry off the ground

set up a recycling area in the apartment

lose 10 lbs

Hope you've enjoyed my list this week. I'll be posting about the finished projects soon!

Bahhhh.

While stumbling through one of my favorite product design sites, I walked into a pasture of sheep…stools.

They’re playful, worthy of a good laugh or two, and yet they’re still pretty fashionable. I think these stools by Sam Brown could be thrown into many a modern home and they would still fit the decor.

And I must say that it’s adorable that they have little black stopper “hooves.”

Who needs all those rides when you’ve got your own Radio Flyer?  As one might surmise from this view of my studio, I also have a busy imaginative life.  I don’t relax at amusement parks.  I relax washing the dishes.  Give me something where the imagination rests!

I like to paint big pictures.

Someday I’m going to get some furniture.
