take a seat

Jelte van Geest , a Dutch designer has created the most imaginative concept that I have ran across in some time. Take A Seat was designed for Openbare Bibliotheek Endhoven. You can check out the chair and it is literally there for you anytime you may need it. If only I could get one of these things to follow me onto the subway! The video is a must see.

Rolling TV Cabinet

I came across this at a friend’s place in Lincoln Park. It sits on a small circular brick rise about a foot off the ground rendering the casters useless.

Those plastic casters are starting to buckle, they need to be upgraded soon!

TV stand convert

This is a very useful piece of furniture, It belonged to my Grandparents, they gave it to me once the bought a larger TV. The base is plastic, & the top is wood. The casters pop right out if they need to be replaced. It’s protected from floods, & is just about waist level.

Here’s the best part, no more lifting, struggling or bending. It also came in handy while building the PC.

See Jane Work – Desks of the Month

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

I have a weakness for desks. I’m constantly searching for ways to make mine more functional and organized. I want it to show my quirks, but also tell people “I get work done here.” I want color, but not too much. I don’t want loud, clashing items that will distract me from writing.

See Jane Work is one of my favorite websites for home office ideas. The products are simple and funky in a non-obnoxious sort of way. Today I noticed they had a Desk of the Month section. This is like porn to me!

My favorites:

Drawer Organization. I think this is one of my biggest pet peeves. I can’t stand unorganized drawers. Currently my desk lacks drawers, which is even worse than unorganized drawers! I just can’t have them until I figure out how to organize them.

Working Girl. Okay I really love this. There’s color, but not too much. The letter trays, portfolios and hanging folders really give it a grown-up feel without being boring and drab. This is a desk I’d love to work at.

Car Organization. I love this. I often tell myself I should just carry my backpack so I can cram everything in it instead of throwing it all over the car. Just like my workspace, I want my car to look impeccable. I can’t focus on the road if my mind is spazzing about all the clutter. I’m especially happy about the Collision Kit. I’ve seen this at Target and thought it’s a great idea to have in your car (along with a first-aid kit!).

Spring Fling. There’s a good chance I chose this because of all the green :)

Out of the Closet. Now I know this really isn’t a desk, but I think this is a great substitute for those who don’t have space to accommodate a big work area.
