May Treasure Hunt – Clue 6: True North Designs

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

The May edition of Prim Perfect once again invites its readers to go on a Treasure Hunt. This time there are FIFTEEN items waiting to be found, and you need to visit each store to discover their prim count. Instructions on finding the prim count can be found on our Treasure Hunt Information Page. What is your reward? You could win something from the Prim Perfect prize cabinet, generously donated by talented designers and store owners from around the grid.

Are you tired yet? Ready for a long relaxing soak? Perhaps it is time to hunt for this tub at True North Designs. It’s one piece of the new Captain Klees collection. If you happen to sink into the deep tub (and I’m not claiming I did), the steam of the water will surround you and bubbles will rise from the surface. Close your eyes and enjoy the sounds of water lapping punctuated by the occasional pop of a bubble. The tub drains with a click and fills again with a touch of the faucet. Dellybean North used wonderful animations on this design. The rest of the collection includes a washstand with animations, a bath screen, and a towel rack.

As I was leaving the store, this set of tables caught my eye, adding to the list of stone-topped furniture I’ve admired this month. This one is an agate table set, with sofa, coffee, and side tables. The stone is highly polished, glowing from the lights above. The lower portion of the table is wooden, with complex raised details on it. On top of the sofa table is displayed a Tuscan lamp, its smooth curves contrasting the hard squares of the tables.

For this treasure hunt competition, find as many prim counts as you can for each of the magazine’s treasure hunt items, and send the details to primperfect@gmail.com, including your avatar name and an answer to the tiebreaker question (which you can find in the magazine on page 63). The winner will be the person who is closest to an accurate prim count, and in the event of a tie, the tiebreaker question will be used. Also – you don’t necessarily have to find every prim count to win a prize! Just find as many as you can, and these clues are here to help. You have until June 5, 2008, to send in your entry. Good hunting!

Case Dining Table and Case Coffee Table

Posted By: Furniture Reporter  //  Category: News

We all have some semblance of a foggy memory regarding TV trays. For some of us, this memory may involve Grandma’s house, dingy lighting, and, if you were really lucky, Stouffer’s macaroni and cheese. And although TV trays seem to have died alongside Hammer pants and audio tapes, we always knew that they were a good idea. You could use them when you needed, and conveniently store them when you were done. Enter the Case Dining Table from the space-conscious Tiny living store. If TV trays are Grandma, then this table is Miley Cyrus wearing Wayfarers and fair trade organic jeans, listening to M.I.A. on a MacBook. Yes, it’s that cool. The table is made of lovely birch wood and would be desirable for its sleek design even if it didn’t fold up to the size of a small case. It’s for anyone and everyone who likes to entertain from time to time but would prefer not to scale the wall from the bathroom to the bed in order to avoid the table when not entertaining. If your room or apartment is even smaller than unlivable or you’d just prefer a smaller collapsible table, you can also check out their Case Coffee Table. As the video shows, expanding and collapsing these tables is easier than ever, so we won’t become overwhelmed with dread when contemplating finally unfolding the birch case in the corner. These case tables are made to be used and loved often. So whether you live in a shoe box in New York, Tokyo, or you mom’s basement, The Talk Market guarantees that you’ll love one of these tables.

isn’t packaging everything? do we even care what they’re selling?

today i’m writing for no reason at all! just to post about…well nothing in particular except what’s crossing my path this very moment!

one of my new blogging bud’s site led me to these next couple sites, i found them really interesting on a couple levels.

on this first one I really like their biz philosophy of having lots of small designers on one site, sort of an etsy but british and, well not really etsy at all actually.

i’m a sucker for pages like these

natural pearl shell knob are irrestible

really versatile bed for only £220.00!

below is a way to be green and funky. stanker turns oil into gold by making tables from barrels at: stanker.design.free.fr

and i want to shout a giant THANK YOU to Sherri at theantiquecafe and antique paperie

for her oh so generous nature and taking the time to send this stunning assortment of beautiful things she makes. she also sent me ‘the secret’ which i haven’t read. can’t wait!

ok one thing i can share is redesigning my boutique, it’s time consuming but i want to be able to handle everything myself! this is it, i’m in the early stages, i’d love your opinion, is it too generic?

ok well back to work!

I want a black one of these for my living room. Not that I sit anywhere else than on the right cushion of my couch with Dylan on my leg. Fuzzy bastard. Nice chair from designer Michael L. Wendel, the Splash Lounge.
