When my mother passed away back in 2001 I was able to take the furniture from her den and put it in mine. The sofa was a cotton floral pattern that, after much use, finally wore out. The sofa was never comfortable for lounging on anyway so it was nice to have a reason to replace it.
Nat and I went to one of the local furniture stores and found what we felt would be absolutely perfect. We had to call and have Brandon go over and take measurements and then decided on the pieces that we would get. This piece is called a chair and a half. It’s just a bit smaller than a love seat. Altogether we purchased a sofa, chair and a half, ottoman and a new rug to cover up some of the “sins” on the carpet in the den.
Kelly and I test the sofa and Tiny (who is too small to jump on the sofa himself) joins us. The glass table is one that was a side table from my mom. We couldn’t find a coffee table that we really liked so we will use this for now and continue our search for something else.
Once when Nat was polishing her nails she accidently spilled the polish (red, of course) and we did our best to clean it up. The new rug is what’s covering this “sin.”
We also got an ottoman that was supposed to sit in the corner of the room unless someone was sitting in the chair. We quickly discovered that we didn’t want to move it from one place to the other but would rather leave it in place so we could just fall in to the comfort of it all.
